Upcoming Workshops

Education is the cornerstone of the SC Herbal Society.  Our workshops are intended to take you a bit further into the world of herbs through hands-on/hands-in workshops, informative seminars on current research and techniques, and field trips that give you a view of herbal gardens and introduce you to other herbal enthusiasts.

If you would like to hold a workshop for your group or organization, please contact us for details.

Hypertufa Pumpkins Workshop

Saturday september 29, 2018 : 10:00am- 12:00pm

Location: Charleston horticulture society, education room

Fee: $35 for members / $45 for non-members

Bring your rubber gloves + join the fun learning how to make hypertufa! In this workshop, we’ll mix up a
batch of “tufa” and turn it into a beautiful fall pumpkin…with a Jack-o-lantern on one side for
Halloween! You’ll get the basic recipe and all the necessary information on how to care for your pot
once you get it home and some ideas on how to plant it. Using hypertufa is a great way to make your
own lightweight yet sturdy pots, bird baths, stepping stones, fairy houses, yard art—you name it! Make
sure you wear your work clothes because this is super messy!
